Urban Decay Cream Shadows Review

I am not going to beat around the bush, I am so not loving these shadows.  I had huge hopes for them, and had even read good reviews ... they just 100% did not work for me.  Like seriously, eye shadow disaster land.  

 

Packaging:  HATE the package.  Hate it.  I am a total hygiene freak and I don't like having to place the doe-foot applicator on my eye and then put it back in the tube - gross!  I hate that about Urban Decay Primer Potion too, which is why I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance, it is in a squeeze tube.  UD claims you can use Cream Shadow as a tube and squeeze it out, but far too much comes out and it makes a giant mess.

Application:  The doe-foot applicator put a lot of shadow on the eye, far too much and when you have too much on, it is nearly impossible for it to dry.  I tried placing some on my finger and some on a brush, it glides on nicely, but you need to put the teeny, tiniest amount on to have it dry.  And even when it does dry, it does not dry like the Benefit Cream Creaseless Shadows or MAC Paint Pots.  Nope, it seems to never fully dry and it was a creasy mess on my oily lids in no time (slightly better when I used eye primer).  

Colors:  The colors were nice, much more exciting than Benefit's Cream Creaseless, but you have to put it on in thin layers which sheer it out.  When I think of Urban Decay, I think of gorgeous, intense colors ... not so here.  In the pic below, they look pretty intense, but 5 min after the pic was taken, all the shadow (because it was still wet) had rubbed off.  Booooo to that. 

 

So I definitely do not love these shadows, I don't even mildly like them.  So back to Sephora they will go.  I have to say I am shocked as y'all know how much I love me some Urban Decay shadows, but they definitely missed the mark with the Cream Shadows.  I think I will buy a new Dior "quint" with the credit.

I played w/these in store even though I knew I wasn't picking up any of them. Cream products on my eye doesn't work out well. The purple one (I think Delinquent was the name) was the only one I could see myself getting. It was an awesome color!
