My Hurricane Gustav Look!

I wore this yesterday, Saturday.  I had to go to the hospital to pick up my parking pass and my re-entry pass to get back into the parish.  I'm on the essential personnel relief team.  So that means, when the storm is over and the roads open back again, I have to get my butt over to the hospital and relieve the people that have been there during the storm.

So my mother and I took a ride to the hospital to pick up my packet.  Then we tried to find a store to pick up some supplies that we needed.  And I bought some food to bring to the hospital with me when I go, because I will probably be sleeping there for a few days.

I started out with Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a base on my entire lid. I used MAC Nylon eyeshadow on the inner third of my lid and as a highlight, MAC Amber Lights eyeshadow on the middle of my lid, and MAC Sketch on the outer third of my lid and into the crease. I did the same on the lower lash line. I used L'Oreal HIP cream eyeliner in black and Clinique Long Pretty Lashes mascara in black. I wore MAC Margin blush on my cheeks and MAC Sequin lipstick.

And I want to thank Critty for introducing the Sonia Kashuk blending sponge.  My love for MAC Studio Fix Fluid has resurfaced after I used it with the blending sponge.  I can blend it out a whole lot better than with my MAC 187 brush.  So now the Studio Fix Fluid now matches pretty well...not perfect, but a lot better.

I also thought it was love at first sight with Revlon Colorstay makeup, but its not.  It was more like lust at first sight.  I wanted it to work out for me, but its not.  I used it almost daily for quite a while, but I didn't like the way it looked on my face after I had it on for a few hours.  And I think it made me break out a little.  But I'm still on the search for a good drugstore foundation that I can wear to work and everyday stuff.  I recently bought Revlon Colorstay Active, which is a little bit lighter coverage than the regular one.  I wore it today, because I did go into work for about five hours, and sofar its ok.  I also used it with my Sonia K blending sponge,  I still want to try it with my MAC 187 brush.

The girl that works with my mom started to sell Avon, and she gave my mom a pack of samples and this was in it. I have never worn Avon makeup before, and I wasn't interested in any of the other samples, except for this. So we will see how this works.

The mayor of New Orleans says that "This is the mother of all storms," and "This is the storm of the century," and "worse than Katrina," and "you need to be scared," and "you need to get your ass out of the city."  Yeah, he said all that.  I think he is trying to scare the people to get them to evacuate.  Most of the meteorologists were pissed after he said all that, apparently they didn't agree with what he said.

Well, off to go start packing my bags for when I go to the hospital.  I don't think I will be bringing any makeup with me.  It just doesn't seem right.  My mom told me this morning that something must be wrong in my head, because a Category 5 hurricane is coming and I'm worried about how my eyeshdow looks.  haha!  I just have my prorities straight!

I'll try to update as soon as possible. Oh and I hope we don't loose power tomorrow night, but I know we will.  No telling for how long either.  And the season premire of Gossip Girl is coming on!  Yeah, I have my priorites in order!

Are you evacuating Jackie? You, as well as everyone in NOLA, but especially you, are in my thoughts and I hope you are very safe!! Beautiful look! I am going to have to try this, I never mixed those two before! Please keep us posted!!!!!

love the eyes as usual!!! but i have been thinking about you all weekend......as i was watching the news i kept saying i hope Jackie is ok, my husband kept asking me who's Jackie!!! LOL but i will keep you in my prayers......be safe!
