Purples for Partying!

Soo, long time no post.  I have been a slacker lately and I have been working quite a few doubles (16 hour shifts) in the past month or so.

Mardi Gras came and went.  I had to work Mardi Gras Day.  It was soooo busy!  Its a holiday here in New Orleans, so everything is closed.  I really didn't know it wasn't a national holiday until, like, senior year of high school.  Its horrible to admit that, but I think most from around here think that too, lol.

I rode in a parade in 2006.  It was fun, but a lot of work.  I didn't realize it was that hard.  You really get a good upper body workout.

I wanted to do a cool Mardi Gras look with purple, green, and yellow.  But it came out a hot mess, so I washed it off and just opted for green and gold for Mardi Gras day.  And I wore just purples for Lundi Gras (the Monday before Mardi Gras, and sometimes its better than actual Mardi Gras).

But anyway, this is a look I wore Saturday night out to the French Quarter.  I am standing in a wedding in March and it was her bachelorette party/lingere shower.

I wanted to do my all time fave look with MAC Juxt and Humid, but decided I do that too often, and opted for purples instead.

 

FACE
-Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 (this replaced Origins Zero Oil Mattifier, and I like the Murad one much better)
-MUFE HD Primer No. 5 (blue!) and All Mat Primer (I mix them together)
-MUFE Camoflauge Cream Palette No. 1
-MAC Stuido Fix Fluid NC15
-Silica Powder from Coastal Scents (I read/watched all the things about it giving you some horrible lung disease, but I don't believe it)
-MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Blonde Degrade (used as blush)

EYES
-UDPP
-MAC Blackground Paint Pot (only on lid)
-MAC Parfait Amour e/s (over Blackground)
-UD Deluxe Eyeshadow in Zero (outer V and into crease)
-UD Deluxe Eyeshadow in Fishnet (used over Parfait Amour to make the purple a little brighter)
-MAC Rite of Spring e/s (highlight)
-UD 24/7 Liner in Lust w/Fishnet smudged over it (on lower lashline)
-Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Liner in black (waterline)
-Dior Diorshow Mascara in black
-Anastasia Brow Powder duo in Golden Blonde

LIPS
-MAC Viva Glam II lipstick
-MAC She Loves Candy lipglass (from Hello Kitty)

My I don't like paying twelve bucks for a drink face!  I would rather buy a MAC eyeshadow! But I still bought those $12 drinks.  One of the girls last night recomended a Vanilla Vodka and Coke...it was pretty tasty.

They must have been real tasty because I heard a lot of stories about stuff I did last night.  Apparently I like to take hats off of men and dance around (and I think it was a really expensive cowboy hat I took last night...I was told the owner wasn't very pleased).  Also, there was a fire truck going down Burbon St. last night and stopped in front of the place we were at...I apparently talked them into letting us take a picture..I must have grabbed that one to pose with us.

Anyway, it was a fun night!  Now, I just have to think of some way to wear my eyeshadow for the wedding.  I know I shouldn't do bright and bold.

The dresses are a light sage green color....Any recs?

Really pretty Jackie!! I love purples on you, esp this smokey purple! Sounds like you had a fantastic time on Mardi Gras - I wish we had something fun like that here :) How about pink eyes to go with the green dress?
