Okay, this is what I wear.

-foundation(just enough to even out my skin tone.)
-translucent powder(to set the foundation)
-a little bit of Physicians formula bronzer for that sun kissed glow
-one coat of mascara(top lashes only)
-black eyeliner(ONLY on bottom. and i don't put it on heavy)
-and lavender eyeshadow to make my brown eyes pop. (I use it lightly and blend it in really well.)

The reason I am asking this is because I don't want people to look at me and say wow she really cakes on the makeup.

I dont want to look like a clown.

Do you think this is too much or should I tone it down?

I used to wear light brown eyeliner but i really hated it and the black eyeliner seems to make my eyes pop.

THANK YOU!!!

P.S>>I have a medium skin tone, brown eyes, and light brown hair. I am sorry I cannot upload a photo of myself for personal reasons.

Hi Winnie6,

That does not sounds like a lot of makeup to me. It sounds like you are using a light hand, and blending, that will make all the difference in the world! There are two reasons people look like they are wearing a lot of makeup, the first is the pack it on like it is going out of style. This is especially true for eye makeup. The second reason is their foundation is the wrong shade, so it looks like they have a ton of makeup on because their foundation is too dark or too light for their face, giving a mask look. Not good!

If you like the way your makeup looks, then go for it! A quick test you can do is to look in a mirror in day light to see if your makeup looks good in broad daylight. If it looks natural and soft, and I imagine yours does, then keep it up.

Most people who wear too much makeup are not even concerned about it so I bet you look natural and fresh.

Hi Lumpkin / Lucy,
Welcome to Pretty by Critty! It's great your mom has a successful career with Avon and has received promotions. I am not sure you want to post her cell and home number on a public forum, anyone can access this information, they do not have to be a member of Pretty by Critty to see it. We don't want that info to get into the wrong hands! Also, just a gentle reminder that this post does not comply with #3 of our Terms of Service http://www.prettybycritty.com/site/terms. But we do welcome your opinions, why don't you post some of your favorite and least favorite Avon products in the Product Review Section http://www.prettybycritty.com/products? Instructions for doing so are right here: http://www.prettybycritty.com/topics/47.

Hi Mary,
I will figure out how to delete her post .. no worries :) I just don't want you home and cell numbers out there where anyone can see them. I am glad she is excited and supportive of you, that's a great thing to have in a teenaged girl.

i'm also 17 and.. okay, I'm guilty, i use looooots of make-up products everyday too.. but that's because I love playing with make-up and try all sorts of new techniques, but I think I could easily cast aside some of the items I use in my daily routine..
I do use foundation, sometimes concealer, loose powder everytime, bronzer, sometimes cream blush on the apples of my cheeks, sometimes both bronzer and cream blush, various shades of eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, illuminator, gloss.. and I see a lot of my friends who really don't wear that much makeup! But I think the secret is to choose colours that work for your complexion, textures that flatter your skin, use a really light quantity of make-up.. and make sure to blend everything together well!
I'm in the process of going as much as I can back to basics now.. :)

what would Jesus not do?

You are so right Lolita ... if you choose colors that work for you (esp foundation) then the actual amount of makeup doesn't matter :)
